The Latest: Teen arrested in school stabbing

The Latest on a fatal stabbing at a Bronx high school (all times local):

9:30 p.m.

An 18-year-old high school student accused of stabbing two students during history class, killing a 15-year-old and critically injuring a 16-year-old, has been arrested on murder, manslaughter and other charges.

Police say Abel Cedeno was taken into custody following Wednesday's attack at the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation in the Bronx. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.

After the stabbing, police say Cedeno handed over his switchblade and was walked to the assistant principal's office, where he quietly waited for police. The knife had a 3-inch (7.6-centimeter) blade. The school doesn't have metal detectors.

Police say they're looking at whether the teenager had been bullied, but they didn't say what prompted the stabbing. Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce says a dispute among the three had been going on for about two weeks.
