Prosecutors have filed first-degree murder charges against a Texas man accused of killing two motorists while randomly shooting from his truck while driving down a western Oklahoma interstate.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say Jeremy Doss Hardy of Pasadena, Texas, surrendered about an hour after reports emerged late Wednesday of a driver firing at vehicles along Interstate 40, west of Oklahoma City.
A man was killed in the Caddo County town of Hydro, and a woman was fatally shot about 10 miles away in Weatherford.
Hardy was initially jailed on a complaint of driving under the influence. The Oklahoman newspaper and KOCO-TV report that the murder charges were added Monday. Authorities say the shootings appeared to be random.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hardy's father, Robert Hardy, told The Oklahoman on Thursday, that the reports seemed out of character for his son. He suggested authorities were mistaken.
