Texas woman says deputy punched her when she was pregnant during arrest, calls for charges
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Texas woman who says a sheriff's deputy punched her while she was pregnant wants the man charged with assault.
Deanna Robinson says she was 38 weeks pregnant on March 4 when she was arrested at her parents' home in Quinlan during a child abuse investigation. Home surveillance video appears to show Robinson pressed stomach-first against a counter, then a deputy striking her back.
She screams, "I'm pregnant!"
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Hunt County Sheriff's Department planned a Wednesday news conference.
Robinson was arrested on charges of assault on a public servant, resisting arrest and interfering with child custody. She spent nearly a week in jail.
Her son was born March 15 and is with her parents. Three stepchildren and another son are with Child Protective Services.
