Texas boy, 4, struck, killed by SUV driven by elderly grandmother
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Officials say a 4-year-old boy died Tuesday after he was struck by an SUV driven by his 81-year-old grandmother, who was picking him up from a daycare in Houston.
The Harris County sheriff's office said the boy was struck Tuesday outside KD Learning Center, which is in a shopping center.
When the driver got out of the moving vehicle to try to help the boy, the vehicle continued in reverse, slamming into the day care.

Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesman Thomas Gilliland says the woman was picking up her grandchild and the 4-year-old, something she did regularly and had permission from his family to do.
She apparently didn’t realize he wasn’t in the SUV.
