Teens Accused of Shooting Western Pennsylvania Bar Owner Are Jailed
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Two teens have been jailed without bond in the fatal shooting of a western Pennsylvania bar owner.
Online court records don't list attorneys for 18-year-old Joshua Lee Stewart, who is charged with criminal homicide, and 17-year-old Devine Campbell, who is charged with conspiracy to commit homicide.
Police say surveillance video and witnesses led to Tuesday's arrests in the killing of 58-year-old William Basilone Jr.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The suspects are from Farrell, about 60 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, where Basilone's owned his self-named bar.
Police say Stewart shot Basilone several times just outside the bar Dec. 30 about 11:30 p.m.
Southwest Mercer County Regional Police Chief Riley Smoot tells The Herald of Sharon, Pa. the arrests are "just the beginning" of an effort to curb violent crime, but declined to say what motivated the shooting. Basilone was not robbed.
