Spring melt threatens Colorado town still recovering from last year's flood

This image shows the destruction following a wall of rain water that washed out entire homes and roads in the tiny village of Glen Haven, Colo., during the statewide flooding in September that killed eight people.

Seven months after the catastrophic flash floods, volunteers in Glen Haven say they are still tasked with removing tons of debris, like boulders, chunks of asphalt and downed trees.

Piles of flood debris are still seen everywhere in the village, according to residents.

The historic village is pictured in this photo prior to the floods that hit the area in mid-September.

This photo shows the same road seven months after the floods -- with buildings still missing.

This photo from June 2013 shows the village during its annual pancake breakfast and craft sale that raises funds for the yearly operating expenses of the firehouse.
