Sheriff's official: Deputy fatally shoots bank robbery suspect near Fort Lauderdale
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say a Florida sheriff's deputy has fatally shot a bank robbery suspect who was parked outside a Pompano Beach strip mall.
A Broward County Sheriff's official says the man was shot north of Fort Lauderdale on Thursday morning after he was spotted in a gray sedan. Authorities said the suspect was in his 40s and had been sought by law enforcement agents in the community of Port St. Lucie.
A spokeswoman says a woman who was in the sedan is in custody and wasn't hurt. It wasn't immediately known whether the man fired shots at the deputy.
