A desperate search continues in a South Carolina creek for a 5-month-old baby, whose mother is now facing charges.
A neighbor called police in Socastee Tuesday after talking to the little girl’s mother, 33-year-old Sarah Lane Toney, Fox affiliate WGHP-TV reported.
Authorities say the woman knocked on her door and said, "I put my baby in the water."

One local police officer described the waterway as a “rushing creek.”
“I cried. It is very upsetting,” Melissa Welch, a woman who lives nearby and saw search crews being deployed, told WGHP. “It is in God’s hands. All we can do is hope and pray.”
