Police: Ohio teen accidentally shot in face by cousin dies
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities in Ohio say a 15-year-old boy shot in the face by a cousin who said he didn't know the gun was loaded has died.
Warren Township Police Chief Don Bishop says 15-year-old Jesse Hayes died Monday. He was shot Saturday night near Leavittsburg in Trumbull County.
Bishop says the 28-year-old cousin told police he had been talking with Jesse about hunting and had a few beers. He was showing the boy a new shotgun when he pointed it at Jesse and pulled the trigger. He told police he didn't think it was loaded.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Bishop says Jesse was from the Cleveland area and had been visiting his family Saturday.
Authorities are investigating the shooting. No charges have been filed.
