Police officer shot, killed during domestic dispute call; 'manhunt' underway for suspect
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A veteran Pennsylvania police officer was killed in the line of duty after being shot and authorities have issued a manhunt to find his killer.
The officer has been identified as St. Clair Township Officer Lloyd Reed.
Police were called to a domestic situation in New Florence shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday. Reed was shot and taken to Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown. He was pronounced dead there.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say they are searching for 31-year-old Ray Shelter Jr. in connection with the shooting.
A state police trooper told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review the department is in an "active manhunt."
Police are asking residents to secure their homes.

New Florence is 56 miles east of Pittsburgh.
