{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Police say a Connecticut man accused of stealing skeletal remains from a Massachusetts cemetery told them he took the bones for religious reasons.
Hartford police say they recovered the remains of five bodies after going to the home of 32-year-old Amador Medina on Friday. Investigators believe the remains were taken from Hope Cemetery in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Medina was taken into custody and charged as a fugitive from justice from Massachusetts. The Telegram & Gazette in Worcester reports Medina is also charged with disinterment of bodies.

It wasn't immediately known if Medina had an attorney. A phone listing for him could not immediately be located Sunday.
Medina is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
