Police investigate if man's shooting death in Colorado is linked with 2 other recent shootings

A police detective loads a desktop computer into his car while searching for potential clues at the home of a slain man - whose name is yet to be officially released - who was shot and killed the night before, in Loveland, Colo., Thursday, June 4, 2015. The overnight killing of the man on a sidewalk near his home in this in this northern Colorado town has raised alarm that a serial shooter might be trolling the area’s roads after a bicyclist was gunned down and a driver was wounded nearby in less than two months. The FBI refuses to comment, but has offered a $10,000 reward for information in the first two shootings, which local police say are related. (AP Photo/Brennan Linsley) (The Associated Press)

Authorities are investigating whether the killing of a 65-year-old man is connected with two other shootings in northern Colorado.

A man was found lying on a sidewalk bleeding from gunshot wounds Wednesday night in Loveland, about 50 miles north of Denver. Police say they were unable to save him.

About 15 miles away, a bicyclist was shot to death in the city of Windsor on May 18, and a woman driving on nearby Interstate 25 was shot in the neck April 22 but survived. Police have connected those two cases, but have not said how.

There also have been a string of broken vehicle windows reported by drivers in northern Colorado since the I-25 shooting. But investigators so far have not found proof of gunshots in those cases.
