Police say an 18-year-old Michigan woman who went missing after reporting she'd stopped to check on a person lying in a rural roadside ditch was found alive more than 16 hours later after jumping from a slow-moving vehicle.
Ecorse police Cpl. Chris Trevino tells the Detroit Free Press a motorist in the Detroit suburb saw the woman jump about 2:30 p.m. Friday from the vehicle, which sped away. Trevino says the motorist took the woman to the police station.
The Associated Press left messages seeking updates from authorities.

The Monroe County sheriff says the woman was on the phone with a friend Thursday night when she stopped in Bedford Township, about 45 miles from Ecorse. She said a man was following her with a gun, then their call was disconnected.
