NYPD investigating chair attack at Chelsea restaurant as possible hate crime
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A brawl inside a New York City restaurant in which two men were hit over the head with a chair is being investigated by police as a possible hate crime.
Police say it happened Tuesday night at the Dallas BBQ restaurant in Chelsea. They're investigating whether anti-gay slurs were used.
A cellphone video of the confrontation shows a chaotic scene. The assailant hurls a chair over the victims, knocking one to the ground and the other into a chair. He also punches and kicks one of the victims as other patrons try to subdue him.

There have been no arrests.
Councilman Corey Johnson, whose district covers Chelsea, issued a statement saying he is appalled by the "senseless act of anti-LGBT hate violence."
