No retrial for 3 freed in NYC after 17 years in prison for FedEx exec, cabbie killings
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Prosecutors will not seek a retrial against three New York City men whose murder convictions in the 1995 killing of a FedEx Corp. executive were vacated earlier this year.
A prosecutor told a state Supreme Court judge in the Bronx on Friday that her office had found no new evidence in Denise Raymond's murder.
The New York Times (http://nyti.ms/15d3QpV ) reports the judge then dismissed the case and sealed the record.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Michael Cosme, Devon Ayers and Carlos Perez were released from prison in January after being incarcerated for 17 years. They had previously been cleared in the 1995 murder of a Bronx cab driver after two jailed gang members confessed to it.
The two killings happened three days apart in the same neighborhood and were closely linked at trial.
