New York City patient injured by flying glass when bullet smashes hospital window
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say a patient has been treated for minor facial cuts after a bullet partially shattered a New York City hospital window.
Police went to the Hospital for Special Surgery on Manhattan's Upper East Side around 5:45 a.m. Friday following reports of a shooting.
Hospital spokeswoman Elyse Bernstein says the 30-year-old patient was in a room facing 71st Street on the building's eighth floor.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Bernstein says hospital staff immediately called 911. The woman is in stable condition.
Police say crime scene investigators have been extracting a possible bullet fragment from between two windowpanes.
Police haven't yet determined whether the bullet was intended for the patient's room.
