Mom gets 25 years in prison for Florida baby's death
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Florida woman whose 8-week-old infant was found buried near their home has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Herald-Tribune of Sarasota (http://bit.ly/1T8kUJm ) reports 32-year-old Kristen Bury pleaded no contest Wednesday to aggravated manslaughter in the Sept. 16 death of Chance Walsh. As part of a plea deal she must now testify against the child's father, Joseph Walsh. He faces second-degree murder and child neglect charges.
Investigators say Chance was buried near their home in Sarasota before his parents left Florida to start a new life.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}After Bury was sentenced, Sally Susino told the judge her daughter lacks the "mother's instinct to love and protect her young."
Chance's other maternal grandparent, John Murawski, called Bury a "monster," and said the child and his parents "slipped through society's cracks."
