Magnitude 5.8 earthquake hits Northern California coast; no injuries reported
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A moderate earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 has struck off the coast of Northern California.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake shook at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday about 40 miles southwest of Eureka.
People reported feeling it as far away as Red Bluff, 159 miles to the east.
