Madoff Son Claims He Was 'Human Shield' for Father's Crimes

With 20-20 hindsight, son Andrew Madoff, who ran the legitimate end of the family business, said it’s obvious Bernie brought prospective clients to the son’s 19th-floor office so potential marks could see real trades being executed.
Two floors below, Bernie was pulling off the greatest swindle of all time.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}“It was one of the hardest things to, to come to grips with, in trying to get my head around this, was that feeling that I had been used -- almost as, as a human shield by him,” Andrew Madoff told “60 Minutes” in an interview that aired last night.
“It’s unforgivable. No, no father should do that to their sons.”
