Kindergartner killed when Ohio school bus goes off highway, hits utility pole, flips onto roof
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}DRESDEN, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a school bus carrying seven children went off an Ohio highway, hit a utility pole and flipped onto its roof, killing a kindergartner.
Authorities say 6-year-old Kasey King, of Frazeysburg, was killed in Wednesday morning's crash near Dresden, Ohio.
The accident also seriously injured the driver, 47-year-old Carol Oler. Six other students had minor injuries. The cause is under investigation.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The bus was on its way to Nashport Elementary School, about 45 miles east of Columbus.
Mark Neal, superintendent at the Tri-Valley school district, called the accident a terrible tragedy for the community.
The State Highway Patrol says the last crash in Ohio that killed a child school bus passenger was 22 years ago.
