Indiana Man Rescued From Burning Home Dies From Gunshot Wound to Head
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}MARION, Ind. -- Authorities say a central Indiana man suffering a gunshot wound to the head died hours after firefighters rescued him from his burning home.
Marion firefighters were called to the house about 4 a.m. Monday and carried out 56-year-old Jeffrey Chambers. Rescuers revived him and he was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital, where he died Monday afternoon.
Deputy Police Chief Cliff Sessoms says investigators didn't immediately know whether Chambers' gunshot wound was self-inflicted. He says a gun was found in the house, but police didn't know whether it was used in the shooting.
