Ill. Woman Dies After SUV Crashes Into Bedroom
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}BOLINGBROOK, Ill. -- A suburban Chicago woman is dead after an SUV slammed into her bedroom as she and her husband slept.
Authorities say 48-year-old Josefina Prospero of Bolingbrook was pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday.
She was crushed under the SUV after it crashed into her first-floor apartment around 2:30 a.m.
Her husband was sleeping next to her but escaped with minor injuries.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A 17-year-old boy who was driving the SUV is in custody in connection with the crash.
Bolingbrook police Lt. Mike Rompa says officials believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Witnesses say the driver tried to flee the scene but was detained by neighbors. A 17-year-old passenger has been released from custody.
An autopsy for Prospero is scheduled for later Saturday.
