Houston police say a father is accused of beating his 3-year-old son to death after the boy had potty training accidents.

Harris County jail records show 24-year-old Anthony Trakemon Powell was being held without bond Tuesday on a capital murder charge. His son died Friday at a hospital.

Powell's sister, 23-year-old Prosha Land, was charged with injury to a child by omission. Investigators say Land witnessed the beatings.

Court records say Powell used his hands and a belt to strike the boy when he wet himself. Land called 911 last Thursday when the boy had trouble breathing.

Her bond is set at $260,000. Online jail records don't list attorneys to speak for the defendants.
