Grad student finds rare 17th-century King James Bible sitting in box of university's library
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A graduate student at a northern New Jersey university says he found a rare first edition of the King James Bible while looking through the library's rare-book shelves.
Brian Shetler is a doctoral candidate in book history at Drew University, located in Madison. He tells The New York Times (http://nyti.ms/1OLyVcE ) that he stumbled upon the Bible sitting in a box in October. He had been collecting a sample of 17th-century books that were printed in England.
The 1611 Bible is one of less than 200 versions thought to still exist. It is nicknamed the "He Bible" for a typographical error in the Book of Ruth that was corrected in the middle of the first printing.
