My father, Norman Brewster was shot down over Germany on 17, August, 1943, while on a mission to take out a ball bearing plant in a combined mission to Schweinfurt and Regensburg. He was the bombardier in the plane. While many of the crew made it out, and spent the balance of the war as POWs, others were killed in action. The photo of the crew in front of their plane shows my father in the front, bottom, left of the picture. The second photo shows what was left of the plane in Germany, following being shot down.
