Feds hunt sex offenders displaced by Superstorm Sandy

US Marshals are searching for several sex offenders who were displaced from their Long Island homes during Hurricane Sandy.
The New York Post reports that the agency has launched Operation Shore Restore, an effort to track down offenders who disappeared after the storm.
Of the roughly 500 individuals at the center of the operation, 40 had relocated because of the storm. They were found in homeless shelters and living with family members because of storm damage to their homes, according to the Post.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}“There were ten we felt had absconded as a result of the hurricane, and left,” Charlie Dunne, US Marshal for the Eastern District of New York tells the Post.
The agency says three offenders with questionable statuses have not been found yet. Details on the crimes the offenders had been convicted of were not immediately available, according to the Post.
