Contractor to investigate parking garage collapse at community college in Florida

The company overseeing construction of a community college parking garage in Florida says it's working to find out why it collapsed.

Ajax Building Corporation released a statement Wednesday, extending its sympathies to the family of the worker killed in the collapse and those who were injured.

A section of a parking garage under construction at Miami Dade College collapsed Wednesday. The company says it does not yet know the cause of the tragic collapse.

Ajax says it is working and cooperating with design and construction partners as well as local, state and federal authorities.

The Tallahassee-based company says it also intends to do an internal review with its partners, Harvard Jolly and Coreslab.
