College student pleads guilty to assault, describes bad behavior on Seattle-Maui Delta flight
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A college student is pleading guilty to assaulting a flight attendant during a flight from Seattle to Maui.
Eric Matthew Schneider was charged with interfering with a flight crew, a felony, after the FBI accused him of drunkenly threatening to kill passengers, shoving an attendant and busting out of plastic handcuffs in August.
In a deal with prosecutors, Schneider pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor assault.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Schneider says he was drinking before and during the flight and behaving belligerently, yelling obscenities and making threats. He says he hit a flight attendant while flailing his arms as he was being restrained.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Brady says Schneider urinated all over the floors and walls of a restroom.
He's banned from flying on Delta Air Lines.
