California courtroom drama: 'I did kill those cops,' suspect says

A man charged with killing two Northern California sheriff's deputies stunned a courtroom by blurting out that he committed the crimes and is ready to be executed.
At the end of a hearing Wednesday in Sacramento County Superior Court, an agitated Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamontes said "I did kill those cops." While being led away in chains he said he should be executed.
Earlier, during a break, Bracamontes repeatedly told his lawyers he wanted to plead guilty. They said he could not and later blamed his outbursts on anxiety.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for the Utah man. He is charged with killing two deputies in an October rampage that also wounded a motorist and another deputy.
His wife, Janelle Marquez Monroy, also is charged.
