Nine buildings in downtown Grantville, Georgia — where hit television drama The Walking Dead was filmed — are up for sale.

Grantville's former mayor says the structures — virtually the entire downtown — are on the eBay auction block until Friday in hopes of finding a buyer interested in revitalizing a town that some envision as a thriving outpost on the southern fringe of metro Atlanta.

Former mayor Jim Sells, who hopes to breathe life into Grantville, says the asking price for the buildings is for $680,000.

Sells says the auction's end on Friday might not result in an immediate sale. He said this week that there's been a lot of interest, but he's still searching for a serious buyer.

Grantville was featured prominently in the AMC show's third season.
