'Bucket List Bandit' waives hearing, to remain jailed pending trial on Pa. bank robbery charge
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A man nicknamed the "Bucket List Bandit" by the FBI will remain incarcerated until he stands trial on charges that he robbed a Pennsylvania bank.
Fifty-four-year-old Michael Eugene Brewster waived his right to a detention hearing on Thursday in federal court in Erie.
Brewster will now remain in prison until he stands trial for the Sept. 10 robbery of a Huntingdon National Bank in Erie.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The FBI says Brewster is suspected of robbing nine other banks in eight states before the heist in northwestern Pennsylvania. He earned his nickname when he allegedly told a Utah bank teller that he had only four months to live.
Asked by a reporter Thursday if he was terminally ill, Brewster just shrugged and smiled as he was led handcuffed from the courtroom.
