The Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1rQlXDw) an anonymous tip led authorities to find an American flag Thursday near a damaged sign posted with the fliers.
The sign announced plans for the mosque.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Mukilteo police Officer Myron Travis says about a half-dozen paragraphs in the fliers contained "anti-Islamic rhetoric."
Mosque President Mohammed Riaz Khan says he's working with religious groups to schedule a meeting this month to answer the public's questions.
People can submit comments on the mosque plans until May 20.
