Arizona mom charged with abuse in son’s death, boyfriend at large

An Arizona woman was facing child abuse charges Saturday after her two-year-old son was found dead.

Wendy Rogel-Pagas, 18, called police Friday night to report that her son George was not breathing, The Arizona Republic reported.

Fire officials arrived at her Phoenix home and pronounced him dead at the scene about 10:00pm local time. They reportedly found evidence of trauma to his head and body.
Rogel-Pagas was arrested on charges of child abuse.

Police were searching Saturday for her boyfriend, Juan Garcia, who is also wanted in connection with the child's death.
