9/11 commemoration in NYC aims to create unity
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Sept. 11 commemoration in New York City will include people standing hand in hand at 8:46 a.m., the time the first of two planes hit the World Trade Center.
Hand in Hand/Remembering 9/11 is scheduled along the waterfront on Manhattan's West Side this Sept. 10, the day before the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
Organizer Julie Menin says it's a way for New Yorkers to feel a sense of unity with each other. The terror attacks killed more than 2,700 people in the city.
