Two women and a 7-year-old girl were shot dead and a 12-year-old girl critically wounded early Saturday, police said as they sought a suspect in what they believed was a case of domestic violence.

Officers were called around 5:40 a.m. Saturday to a home on 148th Avenue, on a suburban-style block in the Springfield Gardens section of Queens.

A 62-year-old woman, a 31-year-old woman and the 7-year-old lay dead of gunshot wounds to their heads, the New York Police Department said. The 12-year old was taken to a hospital, where she was in critical condition.

Police identified Jonathon Walker, 34, as a suspect. He had fled the home in an SUV and was believed to be carrying a .45-caliber gun, investigators said.

Police didn't immediately specify how Walker and the victims were related or connected. The names of the victims were not immediately released.

A call to the home rang unanswered. City property records show it's a two-family home with two female owners. The area is near John F. Kennedy International Airport.
