Can waterproof camcorders survive a dive?
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}This Memorial Day weekend, many of you will go for a swim or do another activity during which you'll get wet. If you want to record these activities while you’re actually in the water, you'll need a waterproof action cam or camcorder.
A number of companies make waterproof action cams and full-size camcorders. Consumer Reports is testing several to see how well they hold up underwater.
We put each model in standby mode and then submerge it in a pressurized water chamber for 15 minutes to simulate the depth the manufacturer claims that model can withstand. Then, we take it out of the water, pop in a memory card, and see whether it still works.
