Wildfire in Santa Cruz Mountains Prompts Mandatory Evacuations

California officials say a wildfire in the Santa Cruz Mountains has prompted mandatory evacuations of about 85 homes.

CalFire says more than 200 firefighters are working at the fire that started early Sunday.

It says the blaze has blackened about 600 acres near an area where a blaze last year destroyed 29 homes and threatened the Mount Madonna retreat center.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
