What the Style Guide Loves Now: Shopping List

Hello fashionistas!

It's that time of year, when our shopping obsession has to change focus from our own needs to the wants of others. But that doesn't mean we need to neglect ourselves entirely! In fact there are certain things I just can't live without, and in this season of giving, I'd love to share them with you!

As you saw in my video series, "What the Style Guide Live Now" there are some great winter styles I just can't get enough of. And if you didn't catch them yet, be sure to click over to our video player. Here's a recap!

Cozying Up In Style

I'm a winter girl, but for those of you who prefer to hibernate when the weather gets cold, snap out of it! It's possible to cozy up this season in style! Instead of a sweater and scarf, why not try a turtleneck capelet like the one above from Ralph Lauren. You'll also need a pair of warm and fabulous boots. I love Minnetonka 's lined styles best.

When it comes to hats, there's nothing more chalet chic that an ear-flap hat from Crowncap. And finally, mittens or gloves? I vote mittens. They keep your hands warmer and my favorite pair from Ugg, is totally adorable.

Winter White

Do you or don't you? Whether you can wear white in winter is a question I'm asked all of the time. The answer is yes! Keep in mind however, fabric is key. Stick to cashmere, viscose, wool and heavier cottons. Also, watch your lengths— pants should be long and capris are a no-no. I also love a white dress for holiday parties with plum or black tights and heels or boots. Speaking of plum, try popping your white with jewel-toned accessories like this clutch from Michael Kors (see picture above). For more on winter white click here!

The Bomber

Oh do I love the bomber!! I'm dying for one, but am presently weighing my options. This amazing style definitely looks edgy with skinny black jeans and ankle boots, but I like to mix things up by wearing it over a feminine and flowey dress. I know what you’re thinking, a leather jacket is pricey. But it will last you FOREVER!!! See, I’m weighing my options. Maybe after the holidays.

Riding Boots

If there's one thing you need this season, it's a riding boot. Here's my pitch— they're stylish, comfy, look great with jeans and skirts AND piperlime.com has styles in every price range. Personally I love to work the whole equestrian thing, wearing them over jeans with a blazer, but you can totally wear your boots with something more bohemian and flowey.
