South Carolina Boy, 4, Shoots Sister, 2, in Hand, Police Say
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Police say a 4-year-old boy accidentally shot his 2-year-old sister in the hand with a gun he found under a couch cushion in their South Carolina home.
Orangeburg police responding to a report of a gunshot victim Thursday morning found the toddler had been hit in the hand.
Police say the gun accidentally went off when the boy handled it.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The children's names have not been released.
Police tell The Times and Democrat of Orangeburg the girl had surgery later Thursday and is in stable condition.
Police recovered a .38-caliber revolver from the home.
