Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in 9/11 Wreckage Landfill
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A small plane flying a banner has made a safe emergency landing in a landfill on Staten Island that holds wreckage from the Sept. 11 attacks.
New York City police said Friday that the pilot is safe. The two-seater had no other passengers aboard.
The plane did not disturb any debris at the closed Fresh Kills landfill. It landed in the early afternoon after experiencing engine trouble.
