'Project Runway' Cleared for Take Off on New Network
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The lawsuit that has kept "Project Runway" on indefinite hiatus has been resolved.
NBC Universal, The Weinstein Company and Lifetime have settled the legal dispute surrounding the popular reality show's move from the Bravo cable channel, owned by NBC, to the Lifetime Network.
"I want to personally congratulate Jeff Zucker and NBCU on their success in the litigation and thank Jeff for resolving this in a professional manner," Harvey Weinsten, whose Weinstein Company produces the show, said in a statement on Wednesday. "We look forward to working together on our ongoing projects."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Weinstein Company will pay NBCU for the right to move "Project Runway" to Lifetime, a victory for NBC and its president Jeff Zucker, who blocked its move from Bravo, saying the network had the right of first refusal in its contract, but was not offered such.
"Project Runway" had completed taping for what was to be Lifetime's inaugural season, but was unable to air the episodes until the lawsuit was resolved.
