Police Search for Escaped Shooter in Nevada

Nye County sheriff's deputies are looking for a 24-year-old Pahrump man accused of shooting at a sheriff's deputy and escaping during a traffic stop.

Detective David Boruchowitz says deputy shot back, but no one was wounded in the 9:30 p.m. Monday shooting near Thousandaire Boulevard and Plantation Street.

Daniel Dixon is sought on charges including attempted murder of a peace officer, assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Boruchowitz says it started when the deputy stopped a vehicle with Dixon and others inside.

Pahrump is about 60 miles west of Las Vegas.
