Person of Interest in Brutal Murder of Senior Citizen Arrested With Missing Teen in Texas

A 22-year-old man wanted in connection with the brutal murder of a disabled senior citizen in Florida was found panhandling with a missing 15-year-old girl and arrested.
Toby Lee Lowry was picked up Saturday in El Paso, Texas, along Interstate 10 with the teen, Morgan Amanda Leppert, The El Paso Times reported. A third person with themwas also taken into custody.
A passing driver, Stacy Fuller, spotted the pair and recognized them from TV news coverage of the Amber Alert issued in the case, the Times reported.

"I started thinking, 'They look familiar,'" Fuller told the paper. "The one thing that kind of made me think it was them — you usually don't see a young couple like that on the corner."
Leppert was reported missing April 22.
Police consider Lowry a person of interest in the brutal killing of 66-year-old James Stewart, whose body was found Thursday in his house in Florida. Lowry and Leppert had been traveling in Stewart's silver Toyota Tacoma.
