McCartney vs. Tyson?
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Singer Paul McCartney has announced a two-day concert stop in Las Vegas during his upcoming "Driving USA" tour.
The April 5 and 6 concerts featuring the former Beatle at the MGM Grand hotel-casino's Grand Garden Arena will replace a canceled heavyweight boxing title fight between Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis, hotel-casino spokesman Scott Ghertner said Friday.
The Tyson-Lewis match, scheduled for April 6, was canceled after the Nevada Athletic Commission denied Tyson a boxing license on Jan. 29. That decision came a week after a brawl at a news conference held in New York to promote the fight. The match could be held elsewhere in the country or abroad.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Tickets to the McCartney show go on sale Monday at prices of $350, $250 and $125. McCartney is touring for the first time since 1993. The arena holds about 12,000 concert seats.
A McCartney spokesman, Paul Freundlich, said 20 tour stops are planned, beginning April 1 in Oakland, Calif., and ending May 18 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Ghertner said the MGM Grand also plans to host a high-end baccarat tournament on April 6.
