Twenty-year-old Scott Javins was last seen about 2:30 a.m. May 24th, 2002 in Terre Haute leaving a friend's home in a silver Honda Civic.
A hatchback vehicle matching that description was found submerged in the Wabash River near Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Vigo County Sheriff Jon Marvel says police identified the car as Javins' using a VIN number.
Police took the vehicle to a bay at the Vigo County Jail after a crane lifted it out of the river.
