House Panel Seeks Investment Banks' Enron Records
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A congressional panel on Wednesday called on 13 U.S. investment banks and credit-rating firms to turn over records linked to Enron Corp. , the bankrupt former energy trader.
The House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee said the request went to Merrill Lynch & Co. (MER), Citigroup Inc. (C), Credit Suisse First Boston , Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Inc. (JPM), Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (LEH) and other top firms.
Committee Chairman Rep. Billy Tauzin, a Louisiana Republican, said in a statement the panel ``called on more than a dozen Wall Street investment and credit rating firms to turn over records linked to Enron and its related partnerships.''
