Avalanches Kill 2 at British Columbia's Whistler Resort
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Two men are dead after a pair of avalanches at British Columbia's Whistler Blackcomb resort.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say a 26-year-old snowboarder was killed Thursday in an avalanche on Whistler Mountain.
On Wednesday evening, a 37-year-old man from Whistler was killed in an avalanche on Blackcomb Mountain. That man's body was found Thursday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}In both cases, police say the men were in areas that were marked off-limits.
Whistler will host the alpine events of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The avalanches come just days after eight snowmobilers were killed near Fernie, British Columbia in a series of back-to-back avalanches in the area's backcountry.
