2 Kansas Workers Killed After Falling From Communications Tower
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Two workers are dead after falling between 500 and 800 feet from a broadcast tower in rural Douglas County.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the two men fell around 9:30 a.m. while installing equipment on the tower two miles east of Lawrence. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff's Lt. Kari Wempe (WEM'-pee) says the office isn't releasing the men's names pending notification of next of kin.
