2 Charged With Murding Michigan Sailor Over Sunglasses, Cash
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Cash and sunglasses were the motive in the shooting death of a sailor outside a suburban Detroit party store, police said.
Devonne Davis, 25, and Desmond Reaves, 18, were charged Saturday in the June 1 slaying of 22-year-old Bernard Cranford, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Witnesses told Wayne County Sheriff's deputies that Davis pulled out a gun and ordered Cranford to empty his pockets and hand over what Davis thought were designer sunglasses.

Following a tip, deputies searched Davis' Highland Park home and arrested him. Davis is on parole for a 2001 armed robbery conviction. Reaves was arrested later.
Both men are charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to rob while armed, using a firearm to commit a felony, being felons in possession of a firearm and being habitual offenders.
