Yankees P Nova leaves with tight forearm

New York Yankees starting pitcher Ivan Nova left the decisive Game 5 of the American League Division Series against Detroit after just two innings due to tightness in his right forearm.

Nova gave up back-to-back homers to Don Kelly and Delmon Young in the first inning to put New York in a 2-0 hole.

The Yankees removed Nova in favor of Phil Hughes, who started the third inning. Nova allowed three hits and had three strikeouts, throwing 24 of his 31 pitches for strikes.
